Acupuncture

Effective treatment for a variety of conditions

Relieve a wide range of common conditions with traditional Chinese acupuncture treatments from Richard Farrer Acupuncture and Physiotherapy in Leicester.

Acupuncture healing treatments

Whether you are looking for pain relief or an allergy treatment, acupuncture can help. Modern science has shown that acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce natural pain relieving chemicals called endorphins. These assist the body to heal itself and provide pain relief as well as relief from persistent allergies. The traditional view is that Qi which is a form of energy circulates throughout a network of channels in the body. There are thought to be twelve main channels or meridians which traverse the body and if the energy can flow freely then this promotes a healthy state. If the energy stagnates this can give rise to symptoms of illness.

During your first consultation at the acupuncture clinic, Richard will determine the nature of the disharmony in your system through careful questioning and observation. He'll make a detailed record of your symptoms, your medical history and family history, your lifestyle, diet and behaviour of the body systems such as digestion and circulation.

From this data he will identify the patterns of disharmony that are causing the symptoms. He will select appropriate acupuncture points to start balancing the system and obtain progressive relief from the symptoms.

I also cover physiotherapy at our clinic. For details, call us.
